Our Firm Philosophy
Skoda Design & Architecture, PLLC (SDA) creates intelligent and authentic architecture and environments based on programmatic integrity, sustainability, and the full integration of technology into the design process. Our goal is to produce a total experience that brings together the technological, aesthetic, emotional, and spiritual into a single spatial experience.
Programmatic Integrity
At SD+A, we design from the inside out. The program drives the design – we listen to our clients, develop a building or interior program based on those conversations, and create a specific architectural work. Unifying the building envelope with the program results in a fully integrated building, rather than aesthetic form-making.
Sustainability
SD+A’s view of sustainability means achieving high-performance buildings, allowing for a full range of new architectural forms that are not at odds with the environment, but rather extend it. Our goal for each and every one of our projects is to demonstrate how doing a sustainable building creates value for our clients.
Technology
Irena Skoda, founder of SD+A, is personally committed to developing her own comprehensive design approach which integrates architecture, interior design, and construction. Applying new technologies SD+A streamlines the process for design and construction from first through to the last phases of every project.
Ms. Skoda is a licensed architect in New York State, A NCIDQ- Certified Interior Designer, and USGBC LEED Accredited Professional.
